Repairing the Leechwell - Day 1

Bruce Kirby of Acanthus (with helper Will) started work on repairing the Leechwell. As you can see from the pictures below, this was dirty work. They opened the grill to the chamber behind the wall and dug out all the old clay. In the process they discovered a toad, two newts and some leeches. They also found a few coins.
By the end of the day they had puddled the new clay.
